FAQs
Straight answers to the questions we hear most.
Everything here is answered the same way we'd answer at your pool — plainly. Don't see your question? Call us at (941) 706-6886 and ask.
How do I know I'm choosing a reliable pool maintenance service?
Sotelos Pool Service is a family-owned and family-run business that has served Florida pools for nearly a decade — and 99% of our clients stay with us year after year. We're CPO Certified (Certified Pool Operator), and the same familiar faces service your pool every week. We're happy to answer any question before you commit to anything.
What is included in my maintenance service?
Every maintenance plan includes a full chemical check and balance on every visit. The cost of the chemicals — and getting them to your pool — is covered in every plan, so there are no surprise chemical charges. We also monitor your equipment on every visit to catch small problems before they become expensive ones.
What is included in the Full Package?
A complete check and clean on every visit: chemicals tested and balanced, walls, steps, and benches brushed, leaf catcher, skimmers, and pump basket cleaned, tiles brushed, filter cleaned or backwashed, the surface netted for a spotless finish, and the pool vacuumed. We also monitor the motor and equipment to help prevent equipment failure.
Can I see examples of your previous work?
Yes — our Gallery page shows real before-and-after photos from our job sites, including green-to-clean transformations and hurricane debris cleanups. Every photo is from an actual Sotelos service visit. Visit the gallery →
What warranties apply to replaced items?
Any equipment or parts replaced at your cost are covered by the manufacturer's or supplier's warranty, which varies by product. We pass along the relevant warranty information at the time of replacement so you always know what's covered.
How often should I have my pool maintained?
We recommend weekly maintenance for Florida pools. Weekly care prevents algae and moss growth, catches equipment issues early, and avoids the structural damage that comes from prolonged neglect — especially in Florida's heat and humidity, where a pool can turn green in a matter of days.
What payment options do you offer?
Service is billed monthly, and we accept cash, Zelle, and checks. Specific payment terms are confirmed as part of your service agreement.
What are your qualifications and certifications?
We are CPO Certified (Certified Pool Operator) — the industry-standard certification for pool water chemistry, safety, and equipment operation.
What's your response time for maintenance issues?
We respond to standard requests within 1–2 business days. For emergencies, we provide same-day service — usually within hours — about 99% of the time.
Can you guide me on pool maintenance between visits?
Absolutely. We encourage our customers to ask questions anytime about upkeep between visits — what to watch for after a storm, how to handle heavy swim weekends, or anything else. Straight answers are part of the service.
