Green Pool Cleanup

Green pool cleanup in Sarasota & East Orlando.

Algae doesn't fix itself — in Florida heat, it only spreads. We bring green and neglected pools back to clear, safe, swim-ready water, then help you keep them that way.

Why pools turn green

A green pool is almost always algae, and algae only needs a few days of the right conditions to take over. The usual causes:

Chlorine runs out

Florida sun burns off chlorine fast, and heavy rain dilutes what's left. Once it drops too low, nothing is holding algae back.

Water isn't circulating

A pump that runs too few hours, a clogged filter, or failing equipment leaves still water where algae settles in.

Storms and debris

Leaves, dirt, and storm runoff feed algae and use up the chlorine that would normally stop it.

Missed weeks

A vacation, a vacant rental, or a busy month — a pool left alone in summer can turn in days.

How we bring it back

Every green pool is different, so we start by finding out why it turned — then clear it properly instead of just pouring in chemicals.

  1. 1

    Assess the pool

We test the water and check your pump, filter, and equipment to find the cause, so the green doesn't just come right back.

  2. 2

    Clear the debris

Leaves, sticks, and anything floating or sitting on the bottom come out first, and the skimmer and pump baskets get emptied.

  3. 3

    Brush and treat

We brush the walls, steps, and floor to break up the algae, then treat the water to kill it.

  4. 4

    Filter it out

The filter catches the dead algae, so we clean or backwash it as the water clears.

  5. 5

    Rebalance the water

We bring the chemistry back to safe, balanced levels before anyone swims.

  6. 6

    Keep it blue

A weekly plan keeps it from turning again — chemicals included, equipment checked every visit.

Green pool questions

How long does it take to clear a green pool?

It depends on how far gone the pool is and what caused it. A pool that just started turning usually clears faster than one that's been dark green for weeks, and an equipment problem has to be fixed before the water will stay clear. We'll give you a straight timeline once we've seen it.

Is it safe to swim in a green pool?

No. Algae-filled water can harbor bacteria, and cloudy green water can hide the bottom of the pool, making it hard to see someone underwater. Keep everyone out until the water is clear and balanced.

Do I need to drain my pool?

Usually not — most green pools can be brought back without draining. Draining a pool carries its own risks, so it's a last resort we'd only recommend if the water truly can't be recovered.

How do I keep it from turning green again?

Consistent chemistry and circulation. Our weekly packages test and balance your water every visit, with chemicals included and your equipment checked — the simplest way to make sure it never gets this far again.

Keep it from coming back.

Once your pool is clear, a weekly plan keeps it that way. Every package includes chemical balancing — with chemical costs covered — and equipment monitoring on every visit.
